Info: Sharing Your Practices with Partner Organizations

Who this article is for: Admins of organizations that practices are directly assigned to — team members with admin access across every practice in your organization's Liine portfolio.

Written by Josh Lamb

If your organization works with outside partners in Liine — such as a marketing agency, a DSO/MSO partner, or another organization you collaborate with — you can control exactly which of your practices they can see, and what they're allowed to do there. This article covers how to manage that sharing yourself.

Note: This article covers sharing your own practices out to a connected organization. If you're looking for how to manage users at your own practices, see Managing Users for Your Organization. If your organization is on the receiving end of a share (a partner has shared their practices with you), see Managing Your Team's Access to Shared Practices.

Key terms

  • Shared practice — one of your organization's practices that you've made visible to a partner organization.

  • Shared Practice permissions — the settings on a connection that control what a partner's users can do at the practices you've shared with them (for example, whether they can see the interaction log or integrations).

  • Users from other organizations — the tag shown in a practice's user list identifying a user who has access through a partner connection, rather than being added directly by your organization. The tag will detail the organization that the user is from.

Note: If your organization is not currently linked to an organization that you need to share practice access with, reach out to your Customer Success Manager to get started.

  • Creating a new link to a partner organization (if one doesn't already exist)

  • Deleting a link to a partner organization entirely

Reach out to your Customer Success Manager or support@liine.com for either of these — they're usually handled the same day.

How sharing works

A few rules explain how shared access behaves:

  • You control what gets shared, and the partner controls who works on it. When you share a practice, the partner organization decides which of their team members are assigned to it. You decide what those users are allowed to do, via the connection's permission settings.

  • Shared users always get "User" level access — never Admin. A partner's team can never be granted admin rights at your practice through practice sharing.

  • Permission settings apply to every practice on that connection, not just one. If you change permissions for the practices you're sharing with a partner organization, the change updates access for the partner's users across all practices currently shared on that connection — not just a single practice.

  • Partner organization admins are required to add, edit or remove their users. Since the partner organization manages who from their team is assigned - adding, removing or editing them happens on the partner's side. If you need to remove practices from being shared with a partner organization entirely, this can be done from the Settings → Shared Practices page.

How to share a practice with a partner organization

You'll need: an Organization Admin login, and an existing link to the partner organization (contact Liine if one doesn't exist yet).

  1. Go to Settings → Shared Practices.

  2. Click on the organization you wish to share beneath the → PRACTICES YOU SHARE header.

  3. Click Change practices.

  4. Check the practice(s) you want to share, and save.

  5. Optional: adjust the sharing permission settings (for example, interaction log access or integrations access).

Note: You can check the Automatically share practices box to instantly share new practices that are added to your organization with the partner organization.

Once shared, the practice appears on the partner's side, and their Organization Admins can assign their own team to it — no further action needed from you.

How to change what a partner can see or do

  1. Go to Settings → Shared Practices.

  2. Click on the organization you wish to share beneath the → PRACTICES YOU SHARE header.

  3. Update the permission settings (for example, turning interaction log access on or off).

  4. Save.

Keep in mind this updates access for every practice currently shared on that connection, not just one.

How to check or remove a partner user's access at your practice

  1. Since the partner organization manages who from their team is assigned - adding, removing or editing them happens on the partner's side.

  2. To stop sharing the practice with the partner entirely, remove it from the connection's shared list in Organization Connections (or contact Liine to delete the connection).

Common scenarios

"We hired a new marketing agency."

  1. Contact Liine to set up a link from your organization to the agency's organization (if the agency is new to Liine, we'll set up their organization too).

  2. Choose which practices to share and set the permission settings.

  3. The agency assigns its own team members from there — no further steps needed on your side.

"We're parting ways with our agency." Contact Liine to delete the link to the partner organization — this removes all of the agency's access at once. If you'd rather pause the relationship without ending it entirely, you can un-share the practices yourself in Settings → Shared Practices and re-share later.

"We acquired a new practice and want our existing agency to work on it too." Once the practice is added to your organization, share it over your existing connection to the agency using the steps above — no new connection needed.

"A partner's employee left their company." This is managed on the partner's side — their Organization Admin removes the user from their team, which removes that user's access to your shared practices automatically.
