Download requests allow you to track and control who downloads assets from your Kits and Portals. When enabled, visitors must provide their email address before downloading, giving you the option to approve access before they can use your assets.
Only Admins and Content Managers can configure Download Requests.
Download requests are only available on the Enterprise plan.
How download requests work
When a visitor attempts to download an asset from a Kit or Portal with download requests enabled, they are prompted to provide their email address. Depending on your configuration, they may receive immediate access or need to wait for admin approval.

Approval modes
Download requests can be configured in three different ways:
No approval required
Assets download immediately after the visitor enters their email. This mode is ideal when you want to track who is downloading your assets without creating friction in the download process.
Visitor enters their email on first download
Asset downloads immediately
Future downloads don't require re-entering email
You receive a record of all downloaders
Kit or Portal-level approval
An admin must approve access once per visitor. Once approved, the visitor can download any asset from the Kit or Portal without additional requests.
Visitor requests access by entering their email
Admin receives notification and can approve or deny
If approved, visitor receives email with access
Approved visitors can download all assets in the Kit or Portal
Optional: Set expiration dates for approval
Per-asset approval
The most restrictive option. Visitors must request approval for each individual asset they want to download.
Visitor requests access for each specific asset
Admin must approve each request separately
Approved access is limited to the requested asset only
Where to enable download requests
You can enable download requests at different levels:
For Kits: Configure download requests in Kit settings. See Download Requests for Kits for details.
For Portals: Configure download requests in Portal share settings. Portal settings override Kit settings for all Kits accessed through that Portal. See Download Requests for Portals for details.
