Learn how the download request system works when viewers want to download Assets from your content.
How download requests work
Download requests provide a middle ground between fully open downloads and completely disabled downloads. Here's the workflow:
1. Visitor finds content
A visitor browses your public Kit or Portal and finds Assets they want to download.
2. Visitor requests download
When they click the download button they will be prompted to request access. To submit a request they must enter their email and an optional message.
If the Kit/Portal is set to no approval required, they will get immediate access after submitting and the rest of the steps below are skipped. You will still see the request under approved requests but no action is needed.
If approval is required, the request goes to you for review.
3. You receive notification
As an admin:
You get notified of the new request (via email)
You can view request details in the Users page under the Download Requests tab
You see what content they want access to
4. You approve or deny
Review the request and decide:
Approve - Grant download access
Deny - Reject the request
You can add a message with your decision
5. Requester gets access
If approved:
The requester receives notification
They can now download from the Kit/Portal
Access typically remains until revoked
If denied:
The requester is notified
They cannot download
They may be able to submit another request
