Firm Only files are internal documents that can only be seen by firm employees and admins. These files are marked with a lock icon next to the file name.
Who Can View Firm Only Files?
Only firm staff can view them
Clients cannot see Firm Only files, even if the file is associated with their Account or Contact
Associating it with a client just helps your team stay organized—it doesn’t give the client access.
When Can You Mark a File as Firm Only?
You can mark a file as Firm Only if it's uploaded:
Directly to Liscio (outside of a Message, Task, or Request)
As part of a Note or To Do (these are Firm Only by default)
What Happens If You Share a Firm Only File?
Sharing a Firm Only file makes it public.
Once shared:
The client can see the file
Account Owners and recipients will have access
If you try to share a Firm Only file through the Liscio Vault, a warning will appear:
“You have selected a Firm Only file. Attaching it to a message will change the status to public…”
