There are a few steps you need to follow in order to verify your listing for the first time:
Claiming Your Business Profile:
Click on Claim this business on the Google maps listing page. Follow the steps provided to claim your profile, and be prepared to verify through phone, text, email, or video.
Verification Methods
The available verification methods are automatically determined based on factors such as business category, public information, region, support hours, and volumes.
Pick a type of verification, and the system will guide you through the process.
Review Process
Verifications may undergo a review process(by Google) to maintain profile integrity.
A review can take up to 7 business days.
Once verified, you will receive a notification.
After Verification
Update Timeline: Allow a few weeks for your updated business info to display across Google.
Editing Your Profile: You can update and add to your info at any time.
Verify your business with a video recording:
You should meet these requirements when submitting the video recording:
Create a continuous, unedited video to accurately represent your business on Google Maps.
Clearly showcase official street signs and surrounding areas for location confirmation.
For physical businesses, record storefronts, showrooms, or signage as evidence of existence.
For service providers, capture relevant equipment, products, or branded tools showcasing offerings.
Demonstrate proof of management by recording actions like opening a cash register or accessing employee-only areas.
This video evidence strengthens your business's credibility and authenticity on Google Maps.
Submitting the video
Record and upload your video: Using your phone go to your Business profile.
Click on “get verified” > “Capture Video”
Tap Start recording.
Follow the on-screen instructions to continue.
Record your video.
Tap Stop recording and Upload video.
Wait for review: After uploading the video, Google will review it and send a notification to inform you about the status.
Instant verification methods
The verification process might not be immediate, it usually takes some time and patience..
For example:
If you verify your website with Google Search Console, your profile might get instant verification.
If an eligible business manages 10 or more profiles for locations of the same business, that business might be able to use bulk verification.
