Overview
Device Backup ensures that your critical files are safely stored and can be quickly restored in the event that your device is lost, damaged, stolen, or compromised (e.g., by ransomware). This feature allows you to easily recover personal data from your device without worrying about reinstalling applications or system files.

What’s Backed Up?
We back up the user’s files stored in their home directory, including personal documents, photos, music, and more. This means if your device experiences issues, you can restore your important files without having to worry about losing them.

Note: The backup does not include your applications or operating system files. If you need to restore your system, you will need to reinstall the OS and any applications separately.

What You Need to Do in Case of Device Loss, Damage, or Compromise

  1. Reinstall the OS: In the case of a device failure, reinstall the operating system (OS) on the new or repaired device.

  2. Install Applications: Users can view a list of applications installed on their device via the desktop app's device drawer. Admins can see the same list in the web app.

  3. Restore Files from Backup: Once the OS and applications are reinstalled, simply download the backup to restore your personal files.
