Your Log Ninja driver account is portable and stays with you, not with any employer. This article explains how your driver account works across multiple companies, how each company gets access to the right logs, and how payment is handled when more than one company is involved.
The two ways it can work
There are two paths, depending on who's paying for your logbook access.
Payment path | Driver access | What companies see |
A company pays for you | You have full app access while that company's subscription is active | Every company you've attached to a log gets dashboard access to the logs relating to their own organisation, without paying separately. |
You pay for your own subscription | You have full app access while your subscription is active | Every company you work for can see the logs that relate to them, as long as you select or add their company details when you create the log. |
Nobody pays | Account moves to read-only. Existing history stays viewable and exportable; no new logs can be created | Companies can still view and export previously shared logs, but no new logs will flow through |
Each company only sees their own logs
Each company only ever sees the logs linked to their own organisation. Company A can't see Company B's logs, and Company B can't see Company A's.
It works a bit like a paper logbook, where you tear out the right page and give it to the right company. The difference with the digital version is that you create the log, attach it to the right company, and the record goes where it needs to go, without the paper trail.
An example: Say Company A pays for your driver access, and you also do some work for Company B.
✔️ Company A can see the logs where you selected Company A as the organisation you were working for.
✔️ Company B can see the logs where you selected Company B, without paying for your subscription.
❌ Neither company can see the other company's logs.
💡 Or say you pay for your own subscription and work for Company A, Company B, and Company C. Each company can see their own logs, provided you select or add them as the company you're working for when creating the log.
What if one of my companies doesn't use the company portal?
That's fine. You can still create your log as the driver and export and share the record with them directly, similar to giving them the paper copy.
To do that, open the log from your Log Ninja app and use the export option.
