Signing up and verifying your email

What to do when a verification email does not arrive, a link has expired, a code is rejected, or sign-up will not complete.

Loop runs in your browser. Use the official site and nothing else. There is no Loop browser extension, desktop app or installer, so anything offering one is not us.

First, you do not need an invitation code

Sign-up is open to everyone. There is no invitation code field on the sign-up page any more, so if a guide or a post tells you to enter one, it is out of date.

Nobody sells invitation codes. If someone offers to sell you one, or messages you first offering access, that is a scam.

The verification email has not arrived

Work through these in order:

Check the address you entered was right. Look in spam, junk, promotions and any filtered folders. Search your mailbox for Loop. Check your mailbox is not full. If you use a work address, your organisation may be blocking outside mail, so try a personal one.

If the page offers a resend, use it once and wait. Requesting several emails does not make one arrive faster, and it invalidates the earlier links, which is the most common reason people end up stuck.

Always use the newest email you received.

The link says it is expired or invalid

Almost always this means an older email was opened. Go back and use the newest one.

If it is the newest and still fails: open it in an up-to-date browser, and make sure the whole link was copied. Some corporate mail scanners open links automatically before you do, which can consume a one-time link. If that is happening, a personal address will usually work.

The code is not being accepted

Check you are entering the newest code, and that you have not requested several. Type it in rather than pasting, so no stray space comes with it. Codes expire, so if some time has passed, request a fresh one.

If it still will not take, message us with the exact error, the address you are using and your browser and device. Do not send us the code itself.

Sign-up will not complete

Check that you are on cantonloop.com and not a copy of it, and that you have confirmed the verification email before returning to the page.

If you are signing up with Google, use the same account throughout rather than switching between accounts partway. Trying a different browser, or the same browser without extensions, resolves most of the rest.

If it still will not go through, message us with the exact error message and we will look at the account.

Not getting notifications

Check your mailbox filters and blocked senders first, and confirm the address on your account is the one you are watching.

Never treat a missing notification as proof that something failed. Check the status in the wallet itself, which is the only reliable source.

Codes are secrets. Treat them that way.

Your verification code, authentication code, one-time password, password-reset code, login link, passkey and private key are all secrets.

We will never ask you for any of them, and we will never ask you to forward a login link. If anyone does, whoever they claim to be, they are not from Loop.

Loop does not use a seed phrase at all, so there is no such thing as your Loop recovery words. Anyone asking you for them is not from Loop.

An email you were not expecting

Do not click the links or open attachments. A familiar name and logo prove nothing.

Be especially wary of anything asking you to pay to activate, verify, restore or unlock a wallet, to install wallet software, to connect to a recovery site, or to sign a message you do not understand. Those are always scams.

Forward the details to us instead: the sender's full address and a screenshot with your personal information hidden.

What to send us

The email address on your account. Which email you were expecting. Roughly when you requested it. The page you were on. The exact error message. Your browser, device and operating system. A screenshot with anything sensitive hidden.
