Written by Umer Ishaq

You can search Loopster's contact database with filters and import the matching people into a new table. Importing people from Loopster's own database is free.

In short: click People in the left sidebar. Type a title in Job title and press Enter, then type a country in Country and press Enter. Click Import to table, then click the Import N button, where N is the number of people it will import.

How do I open the People page?

Click People in the left sidebar. The page is called People. Before you set a filter it says: "Start with a filter — Narrow the contact database by title, seniority and location, then pull the matches into a table."

The People page just opened. In the left sidebar, People under Find leads is highlighted and outlined in red. To its right the Filters panel is open, starting with Job title.

How do I narrow the list down?

Use the Filters panel on the left. It includes Job title, Seniority, Department, Country, State or province and City. Further down are filters for company, size, revenue, months in role, whether someone has an email or phone, and more.

The first filters in the Filters panel: Job title, with Contains selected and one title, Head of Sales, then Seniority showing Any seniority, Department showing Any department, Country, State or province, and the start of City. Each has an Exclude link at the right.

A lower part of the Filters panel: Company industry set to SaaS, Company size set to 51-200 and 201-500, Company revenue showing Any revenue, Months in role with empty Min and Max boxes, and the Has an email and Has a phone number switches, both off and showing Any.

  1. In Job title, type a title and press Enter. The hint says titles are matched as a phrase against the current title, and to press Enter after each one.

  2. In Country, type a country and press Enter.

The number of matches shows at the top, such as "2 people". It changes as you add filters. The results list shows Name, Experiences, Location and LinkedIn URL for each person.

The results on the People page. At the top the count reads 2 people, outlined in red, with the Import to table button at the right. Below it, the results list has the columns Name, Experiences, Location and LinkedIn URL and two numbered rows, with the row contents blurred.

How do I import the matches?

  1. Click Import to table. A dialog called "Import to a new table" opens and says how many people match.

  2. Check Table name. It is filled in from your search.

  3. To bring in fewer people, type a number in Limit results. Leave it blank to import everyone who matches (on the free trial, an import brings in at most 1,000).

  4. Click the import button. Its label shows how many people it will import, for example Import 2.

On the free trial, each import brings in up to 1,000 people, and up to 10,000 people and companies combined. See Your free trial: what's included and what happens when it ends.

The Import to a new table dialog on the People page, saying 2 people match. It has a Table name field, an empty Limit results box showing the grey hint All 2, the line Leave blank to import all 2, and a note that people from Loopster’s own database cost nothing to import, outlined in red. The button reads Import 2.

The button shows "Importing…", a message says how many records were imported, and the new table opens with one row per person.

What does the new table look like?

It has the columns First name, Last name, Full name, Job title, Company, City, State or province, Country, LinkedIn profile and Person record.

The new table that opens after the import. The toolbar shows Auto-run On, and the table has two numbered rows. The visible columns are First name, Last name, Full name, Job title, Company, City and a State column cut off at the right edge.

Good to know

  • The dialog says: "Free — people from Loopster's own database cost nothing to import. Enrichments you add afterwards are priced as usual."

  • Check Auto-run in the toolbar before you add paid columns. A table imported from the People page can start with Auto-run On. To switch it off, click Auto-run and use the switch. It then says "New rows and values will not run on their own". See Run columns safely: Auto-run, test one row, then run the rest.

  • To add a column without running it, click the arrow next to the main button and choose Add column without running. Then test one row with its play button.

  • Filters you set can still be there when you come back to the People page. Check the filters and the count before you import.

  • To find work emails for the people in your table, see Find people's contact details with waterfalls.
