Implementation Overview: Salesforce Commerce Cloud + Impact

How LoudCrowd storefronts work on a Salesforce Commerce Cloud site with Impact sub-affiliate tracking, and the steps to get them live.

What LoudCrowd does

LoudCrowd is a creator marketing platform. Your creators, ambassadors and affiliates get a shoppable storefront on your website, share links to it with their followers, and earn commission on the sales they drive. You manage the program, creators and reporting in the LoudCrowd Brand App.

This setup is for brands on Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) that run their affiliate program through Impact. LoudCrowd joins your Impact program as a sub-affiliate, so Impact keeps tracking clicks, crediting sales and handling commissions, and shoppers land on the creator's LoudCrowd storefront.

What a storefront is

A storefront is a page on your own site that shows one creator's profile, their product picks, and their social posts tagged with your products. Shoppers browse it and click through to your product pages to buy.

You only build one page. LoudCrowd reads the URL parameters on each link and fills the page with the right creator's content, so every creator's storefront runs on that same page.

How a sale is credited

  1. A creator shares their link. It is an Impact tracking link that points to their storefront.

  2. Impact records the click, then sends the shopper to the creator's storefront on your site.

  3. The shopper buys on your site.

  4. Impact credits the sale to the creator and calculates commission under your Impact program terms. LoudCrowd shows the creator's sales and earnings in your program reporting.

Impact admin and program admin

1. Create an API client in Salesforce Account Manager

In Account Manager, add a new API client with the Commerce Cloud API role, filtered to your exact Commerce Cloud instance. Save the client ID and the password you set. You need both in step 2.

Only enable the scopes listed in the API client guide.

2. Connect SFCC in the Brand App

In the Brand App, go to Integrations, add an eCommerce integration and select Salesforce. Enter your store URL, product URL template, short code, organization ID, site ID, and the client ID and secret from step 1. Then select the store in your Program Settings.

If you run more than one SFCC store, for example a US and a UK site, you can connect each one.

3. Install the LoudCrowd SDK

Add the LoudCrowd script to the <head> of your base page template so it loads on every page. Update your Content Security Policy to allow LoudCrowd.

Load the SDK directly, not through a tag manager. iOS privacy settings block most tag managers by default, which breaks storefronts for many shoppers.

4. Build the storefront page

Create one new page in your SFCC site and add the LoudCrowd web components:

  • Hero block: the creator's profile photo, bio and follower count

  • Feed block: their products and posts

  • Featured product block: the product a shopper clicked into, shown above the rest of the page

Adjust margins, padding and spacing with your own page CSS. See Styling Storefront App Blocks.

Once the page is live, enter its URL in the Ambassador Template URL field in Program Settings. LoudCrowd uses it to build every creator's links.

Tip. Add ?lc_ambassador_id=demo_ambassador to the page URL to load sample data before your program is live.

5. Send a product feed

LoudCrowd pulls your catalog from SFCC through the connection in step 2. Pricing from the SFCC API can be incomplete if you use multiple price sources, show sale or original prices, or change prices often, so you also send a pricing file to a LoudCrowd SFTP folder.

The pricing file updates incrementally. Send only the products whose prices changed, as often as your prices change. Field requirements are in Send Product Data to LoudCrowd.

6. Send an orders feed

Impact credits sales and calculates commission. Your orders feed gives LoudCrowd the order and returns data behind your program's sales reporting. Use the Events API to send each order as it is placed.

7. Add LoudCrowd as an Impact sub-affiliate

  1. Add LoudCrowd's Impact partner account to your Impact program, either by approving LoudCrowd's application or by finding LoudCrowd as a partner.

  2. In the Brand App, go to Affiliate Programs, add an Impact Subaffiliate integration, and enter your Impact Campaign ID.

  3. In Program Settings, select the new Impact integration as your source integration and save.

  4. In Impact, add LoudCrowd's variables to your Program Tracking Template under Settings and Gateway.

Creator commission rates are set in your Impact program, not in LoudCrowd.

Before you launch

  • The storefront page loads with ?lc_ambassador_id=demo_ambassador

  • Products show correct images, prices and availability

  • A test click on a creator link shows up in Impact and lands on the right storefront

  • A test order placed through a creator link is credited in Impact

  • The SDK loads on every page, not only the storefront

Once all five check out, your storefronts are ready for creators.
