Join a school or university that already has a Love to Ride profile
1. Head to your Profile Page (you need to be registered with a Rider Profile and logged in - register here if you don't have one yet).
2. Click on 'Join a School/University' under your name
3. Type in the name of your school or university and click 'Search'
4. Find your school or university on the list and click on it to register
If your school or university has campuses in multiple locations (e.g. the University of Washington has a campus in Seattle and two additional campuses located in Bothell and Tacoma), you will be asked which local school or university profile you want to join (e.g University of Washington - Seattle).
5. Confirm whether you are an employee or a student. If you have already confirmed your occupation this will not show.
6. That's it! You will now see your school / university listed on your profile 🙌
Setting up your school or university from scratch
If you're the first of your fellow co-workers or students to join Love to Ride, welcome! 👋 🎉 You will need to set up your school or university profile. Don't worry - it's really easy and anyone can do it.
1. Head to your Profile Page
2. Check that your school or university doesn't already have a profile
It can get complicated when multiple school or university profiles are set up by mistake. Follow step 3 above to search any possible names for your workplace before setting up a new one. If you can't find one, read on.
3. Select 'Can’t see your School, College or University? Register it as a Workplace'
4. Choose one of the options for 'my organization has...'
5. Type in the name of your school or university
Be sure to include anything that other students or staff might search for, e.g. if you use an acronym, include this in brackets after the full name. This will help other students and staff find your school or university profile when they sign up, e.g. University of California Los Angeles (UCLA).
6. Choose your industry from the dropdown menu and click 'Next'
7. Fill out the details for your school or university
It is important that the address is accurate as this will ensure that you see local content and make sure your school / university is eligible for local campaigns.
The staff and student count must include ALL full or part-time paid staff and students at this site, not only those who usually ride.
You can exclude people who are on maternity leave, long-term sick leave, sabbatical, other long-term leave, or based outside of the country for the full duration of the challenge period. Read more information about who to include in the staff count here.
Please ensure the staff and student count is as accurate as possible. If you aren't sure, please reach out to a member of staff who can tell you this. You can make an estimate to set up the school / university profile and then update it later with the correct number.
6. Confirm whether you are an employee or student via the pop up. If you have already confirmed your occupation this will not show.
That's it! You will now see your school / university on your Profile Page 👇
You will be automatically made the Champion. If you want to change who the Champion is, follow these steps.
