Introduction

The referral process will be modified shortly. Our aim is to make referral easier by offering a unique referral link for each customer, in order to increase revenue and the number of new customers.

💡 This feature will be available on July 23th.


Referral system: before and after

Before

Referrals were made by entering the e-mail address of the person to be referred in the referral section:

After

  • Referring customers can share a referral link or send an e-mail.

  • On smartphones, the link can also be shared by SMS.

📝 This update applies only to brands using Klaviyo or Brevo.


Modification of the referral email

The trigger and variables of the referral email are modified (the referral email and the reminder remain unchanged). Here are the modifications:

  1. New trigger: referral_friend_link instead of referral_friend.

  2. Referral link: Use {{event.referral_link}}

Here is an example of text to copy and paste for your new email:

Take advantage of free [Referral Rewards]!

Thanks to your friend {{event.referral_customer_firstname}}, you'll receive a free [Referral Reward] on your first order.

Go to {{event.referral_link}} to get your code and use it.

Valid for a minimum purchase of [minimum purchase]

PS: your code expires on {{event.referral_expiration}}

CTA: I enjoy my [Referral reward].
Link: event.referral_link

What's new for you

  1. Before July 23th, prepare your email on Klaviyo / Brevo. The referral_friend_link trigger will be available from the 9th of July to prepare your email.

  2. On launch day, the referral_friend trigger will no longer work. To avoid disrupting the referral process, the email will be automatically activated on Loyoly (Communication tab - Email).

  3. You will need to activate the flow on Klaviyo / Brevo and then deactivate the mail on Loyoly.

📝 Important: You must deactivate the Loyoly email after activating the mail on Klaviyo / Brevo so that the mail is not sent twice.
