Automatic backups help protect your VPS data without manual effort.

In LumaDock, you can create backup schedules that run on specific days and times with clear limits and notifications, so you always know what’s happening.

Access the backup schedules section

Start by opening the VPS you want to protect.

Step 1 – Open your VPS management page

Log in to your LumaDock client area and open My products and services.
Find your VPS and click Manage.

Step 2 – Navigate to Backup schedules

In the Service management menu, click Backup schedules.

This page shows all existing schedules for the VPS. If no schedules exist, the list will be empty.

Create a new backup schedule

You can define exactly when and how backups are created.

Step 3 – Create a schedule

Click Create backup schedule.

A configuration window will open where you can define the schedule settings.

Step 4 – Configure the schedule options

Set the following fields:

  • Start time
Choose the time when the backup should start.

  • Day of week
Select one or more days when the backup should run.

  • Compression type
Choose the compression method used to store the backup.

  • Backup mode
Select how the VPS is handled during backup, for example snapshot or stop.

  • Send email message
Decide if email notifications are sent and when.

  • Recipients
Enter the email addresses that should receive notifications.

Step 5 – Save the schedule

Click Confirm to activate the backup schedule.

Once saved, the schedule appears in the backup schedules list.

Edit or remove an existing schedule

Schedules can be changed later if your needs change.

Step 6 – Edit a schedule

Click the edit icon next to an existing schedule.

Update the settings and click Confirm to save changes.

Step 7 – Delete a schedule

Click the delete icon next to the schedule and confirm the action.

Important limits and behavior

There are a few rules to keep in mind:

  • Only one backup run is allowed per day for each VPS.

  • If your routing backup limit is 1, the newest backup replaces the previous one.

  • Changes made after a backup has already run will take effect from the next eligible day.

These limits help keep backups predictable and storage usage under control.

Once a schedule is active, backups run automatically based on your settings with no manual action required.
