Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds another layer of protection to your LumaDock account. After entering your password, you will also need a six-digit code generated by an authenticator app.
You will need an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator or Duo Mobile before starting.
Enable two-factor authentication
Sign in to your LumaDock account and follow these steps:
Step 1 – Open Security Settings
Click your name in the top-right corner and select Security Settings. You can also open Security Settings directly.
Step 2 – Start the setup
Under Two-Factor Authentication, click Click here to Enable.
Step 3 – Choose Time Based Tokens
Select Time Based Tokens and click Get Started ».
Step 4 – Connect your authenticator app
Open your authenticator app and scan the QR code displayed on the screen.
If you cannot scan the QR code, enter the setup key shown on the screen into your authenticator app manually. Treat this key as private account information.
Step 5 – Verify the connection
Enter the six-digit code generated by your authenticator app and click Submit.
Step 6 – Save your backup code
Copy the displayed backup code and store it somewhere secure, such as a password manager. The backup code cannot be viewed again after you close the setup window.
Click Close when you have saved it.
Sign in using two-factor authentication
After 2FA is enabled, sign in with your email address and password as usual. When prompted, enter the current six-digit code from your authenticator app.
If your authenticator device is unavailable, select Login using Backup Code and enter the backup code you saved during setup. If you cannot access your authenticator app or backup code, contact LumaDock support for help.
