What plans are available for Magical Fees?
Magical Fees offers four plans across two tiers: Starter and Plus, each with an optional Compliance add-on. All plans include a 14-day free trial and can be billed monthly or yearly (save ~20% with yearly billing).
Starter Plan — $9/month or $85/year
The Starter plan is available to all Shopify stores. It lets you add fixed or percentage-based fees to products or to the order subtotal, with support for your Online Store, POS, and Draft Orders.
Key features include:
Fixed and percentage-based fees with optional min/max limits
Product and collection targeting with custom conditions (type, vendor, tags, options)
Cart subtotal and quantity conditions
Credit card payment method fees
Location-based fees (manual confirmation flow)
Sales channel targeting per fee
Fee Audit Log with 60 days of history
Plus Plan — $29/month or $279/year
The Plus plan is designed for Shopify Plus stores that need advanced checkout capabilities. It includes everything in Starter, plus:
Checkout UI Extension. Advanced fee display and consent directly in checkout
Order total percentage fees. Calculate fees on the full order total (including tax, shipping, and other fees)
Automatic location detection. Fees triggered by the customer's shipping address at checkout, with no manual confirmation required
PayPal and Shop Pay payment method fees. Charge fees when customers pay with PayPal or Shop Pay
Customer tag fees. Apply fees based on customer account tags (e.g., wholesale, tax-exempt, B2B)
Cart-level block fees. Apply Block Method fees to the cart as a whole
While credit card and location-based fees are available on both plans, the Plus plan applies them dynamically at checkout. They're calculated as soon as the customer enters their payment details or shipping address, without requiring manual confirmation.
Compliance Add-Ons
Both Starter and Plus offer a Compliance add-on for stores with record-keeping or regulatory requirements.

The Compliance add-on upgrades your Fee Audit Log to unlimited history, giving you access to your complete fee record with no date restrictions. Everything else stays the same as your base plan.
When you upgrade to a Compliance plan, you'll be prompted to grant the "Read all orders" permission. This allows the app to access your full order history for audit reporting.
Switching Plans and Billing
You can change your plan or switch between monthly and yearly billing at any time from Settings > Plan in the app. Shopify handles prorated billing automatically when you make changes.
