When you set up a credit card fee with Magical Fees, Shopify requires that customers consent to the fee before completing their purchase. How this works depends on whether you're on Shopify Plus.
Shopify Plus stores: The consent step happens directly on the checkout page. If a customer declines, they cannot proceed with checkout.
Non-Shopify Plus stores: Customers see a popup before the checkout page asking them to consent to the credit card fee. If they decline and still choose to pay by credit card, Magical Fees automatically detects the credit card payment after the order is placed and emails the customer an invoice for the outstanding fee amount, along with a link to complete the payment.
If you prefer a flow that does not include a customer follow-up email, we recommend removing the Payment Method condition so the fee applies to all orders.
