Get a Flow alert when an address is flagged

Address Ninja

Written by Jeff Chew

Address Ninja adds one Shopify Flow trigger, Address verification updated, so your own workflows can email your team or tag an order when an address is flagged, fixed or kept.

Address verification (Pro plan) checks the shipping address after the order is placed. It tells your own Shopify Flow workflows what it found, so you can email your team or tag the order for follow-up.

The trigger

Address Ninja adds one trigger to Shopify Flow: Address verification updated. It runs when an order's address is flagged, fixed or kept. It does not run for the test addresses you try in the Address Ninja admin.

The trigger has these fields:

Field

What it holds

Order

The order. Flow reads the order's address and other details itself.

Event ID

A code for this one event.

Status

flagged, fixed or kept.

Result

needs_review or corrected_suggestion.

Shopify verdict

What Shopify's own address check said: no_issues, warning, error, unresolved, not_covered or pending.

The trigger never carries the suggested address. The customer sees the suggestion. You see the order.

The three statuses

Status

What happened

Order tag

flagged

The address needs review, or Google proposed a different address.

address-ninja-review

fixed

The customer chose "Use suggested address" and the order's address was updated.

address-ninja-fixed (replaces address-ninja-review)

kept

The customer chose "Keep the address I entered".

address-ninja-kept (replaces address-ninja-review)

You can use the tags without Flow, for example to filter your order list.

Example: email your team about a flagged order

  1. In Shopify Flow, create a workflow and choose the trigger Address verification updated.

  2. Add a condition: Status is equal to flagged.

  3. Add the action Send internal email. Put the order name and the Event ID in the message. Or add the action Add order tags with a tag your team watches, such as check-address. (Update order note also works, but it replaces the note already on the order.)
