How to combine two meeting recordings into one summary

If your meeting was split into two parts (e.g. dropped call, reconnection), here's how to get a single unified summary.

Sometimes a meeting gets interrupted — someone drops, you switch links, or the call needs to restart. This creates two separate recordings in Timeless. Here's how to combine them into a single, unified summary.

Method 1: Add both recordings to the same Room

Rooms in Timeless let you build a persistent workspace with multiple meetings as context. This is the best approach if you want to keep referencing the combined content over time:

  1. Open an existing Room or create a new one in Timeless.

  2. Click Add context (or the + button) inside the Room.

  3. Select the first part of the meeting to add it to the Room.

  4. Repeat and add the second part as well.

  5. Both recordings are now permanently in the Room's context. Ask the AI for a unified summary:
"Please give me one combined summary of both meetings as if they were a single conversation."

The Room will keep both recordings as context for any future questions as well — great if you need to follow up on the meeting later.

Method 2: Use @ to reference both meetings in a chat

A quicker, one-off approach that works in any Room or Daily Chat:

  1. Open a Room or Daily Chat in Timeless.

  2. Type @ in the chat input — a picker will appear listing your recent meetings.

  3. Select the first part of the meeting to add it as context.

  4. Type @ again and select the second part.

  5. Both recordings are now in the context. Type your request, for example:
"Please create a single unified meeting summary from both of these recordings."

  6. The AI will generate one combined summary treating the two parts as a single conversation.

Method 3: Merge the audio files before uploading

If you have local copies of both recordings, you can merge them into one audio file using a tool like QuickTime Player (Mac) or any audio editor, then upload the combined file to Timeless for a single summary.

Tips

  • All methods work best when both parts are already processed by Timeless (i.e., they each have a transcript).

  • Make sure to briefly describe what the meeting was about in your message so the AI has context (e.g., "This was a client discovery call with ACME Corp").

  • If you have an Agent set up for meeting summaries, you can also invoke it using @ with both recordings as context.
