Why Teachers Use Pinned Solutions

Pinned solutions help teachers:

  • showcase different problem-solving strategies

  • compare multiple approaches to the same problem

  • facilitate class discussion

  • highlight strong mathematical communication

  • revisit important examples during instruction

Many teachers project pinned solutions on a classroom screen to support whole-class conversations.

Pin a Student Solution

  1. Open the Heatmap for an assignment.

  2. Open a student solution.

  3. Click the pin icon on the solution you want to save.

The solution will now be added to your pinned list for quick access.

View Pinned Solutions

To view all pinned solutions:

  1. Click the pin icon at the top of the page.

This allows teachers to quickly switch between selected examples during instruction or discussion.

Maintain Student Anonymity

Teachers can hide student names and answers while presenting solutions to the class.

To anonymize student information:

  1. Click the hat-and-glasses icon in the top-right corner.

This helps create a safe classroom environment focused on mathematical thinking rather than individual students.
