Progress Tab 📊

We’ve introduced a new feature that will be the first to show teacher aggregated stats throughout the school year! This feature provides teachers with a comprehensive view of student progress over time, helping them make more informed decisions and track performance throughout the year.

Goodbye to the Library Tab 📚

The Library tab is no longer available!

This means two things:

  1. To add or remove books from your list, you’ll now do it in the Create Assignment flow. When you click on 'Add more books', a new window will open where you can see all the book covers.

  2. To access My Book, you’ll also go through the Create Assignment flow. Just click the menu button for My Bookand select Edit.

New Manipulatives in the Toolbox 🛠

Students now have some new manipulatives available in the toolbox! 🎉

We’ve added:

  • Ruler

  • Protractor

  • Number Line

  • Ten Frame

These can be found under "Other" in the toolbox, and all manipulatives (except geometric shapes) now support drag-and-drop functionality! Try them out!

Note: The simple mode toolbox will remain unchanged for now.

New Sign-In Page for Magma 🌐

We’ve updated the sign-in page! This update introduces a new design and flow when signing in to Magma. While the main flow remains the same, the updated design now aligns better with the rest of the teacher, student, and district platforms.

What’s different:

  • Selecting a School: Teachers can now search for a school directly instead of selecting country, state, region, and district. The country for searching schools is auto-selected based on your browser settings.

  • Search Options: Users can search by:

    • School name

    • District name

    • State

Summary for Student Solutions from Heatmap 📝

We’ve added a summary feature for student solutions when you go from the heatmap to student solutions! Now, teachers can generate a summary that takes into account everything the student has done in the assignment, including their work on the canvas! This makes it easier for teachers to identify mistakes in student calculations without having to go through every solution manually.

Students Web Release & New App Version (3.11.2) 🚀

We released Students Web this morning, and there’s a new app version (3.11.2) available!

What’s new:

  • Drag and Drop for all manipulatives, including shapes (circle, triangle, rectangle, etc.)! 🎉 This update ensures that all manipulatives support drag and drop, improving the overall experience and removing friction when placing them on the canvas.

  • Ten Frame + Number Line added to the Simple Mode toolbox! These were requested by teachers and CS, and we hope the kiddos will find them super useful!
