Now that you’ve logged in, there are three important steps to set up your account properly.

Create your first assignment!
1. Check You’re in the Correct School
To confirm your school:
Click your name in the bottom-left corner.
Check that the school name shown is correct.
If it isn’t, please message us via the orange smile chat in the bottom-right corner.
Let us know your correct school name, and we’ll update it for you.
2. Set Up Your Classes
All of your pupils have already been imported into your school.
Follow the steps below to create your classes and link your pupils.
Create Your Class
Click ‘Classes’ in the bottom-right corner, just below your name.
In the top-right corner, click the orange ‘New Class’ button.
Give your class a name and select the correct year group.
If it’s a mixed-year class, choose the highest year.
3 a. Add pupils to your class with the class code
A white tile will appear with your new class name. Click anywhere on that tile to open it.
Once you’re inside your class, you’ll see a 6-digit code next to the class name.
This is your class code your pupils will need it to join your class.
Pupils should log in to Magma Maths through the app on their device.
They should select ‘Log in with Microsoft’.
Once logged in, click on the pupils name → join new class.
Pupils enter your 6-digit class code to join your class.
3 b. Add pupils to your class with QR codes
Scroll down to the classes that are called "[school name + year]". Follow the classes in the relevant year(s) for you.
Please note: depending on the number of pupils in the year, you may need to follow more than one of these classes
Go back to the class you've set up. Click the 'add pupil' button, and then 'add existing'. Select all the pupils from the list who are in your class and hit 'save'
Once all pupils have been added, click the 'print' button. You can then print out the pupils' QR codes.
Important: pupils need to open the Magma app and tap the Magma QR-code button to sign in using the QR code
4. Create an Assignment
Once your class is set up and your pupils are logged in, you’re ready to create your first assignment!
Assignments let you choose activities for your pupils to complete, track their progress, and see how they’re getting on.
To get started:
Go to your class.
Click ‘New Assignment’ in the top-right corner.
Choose your topic and set the dates.
