Track and fix document generations on the Monitor

The Monitor shows every Shopify order with the status of its documents in Fatture in Cloud, in real time. If a document wasn't created, you see it here, see why, and fix it without leaving Shopify.

Your numbers at the top

Successfully generated: how many documents the app created, in total and today. Saved time so far: how much manual work that saved you.

Type an order ID in the search field; the list filters as you type.

Part of the ID is enough. For order #344, searching 344 finds it.

Switch between views

The Monitor opens on All orders. Two quick views narrow it down:

  • Only successful: everything that went through

  • Only errors: the orders that need you

Reading the order rows

Every document of an order shows one of three states.

⚫ No document

No document was created for this order yet. Next to it you see why, for example:

  • Skipped by your exception: order has tag influencer. The order matched one of your Skip these orders exceptions in Settings.

  • Based on your trigger settings, this order hasn’t triggered any document. None of your triggers has run for it.

  • Generate document: opens the manual generation window, where you pick the document to create.

🟢 Success

The document was created in Fatture in Cloud. The row shows its type, number and creation time. Open or download it in Fatture in Cloud.

Under the document you see what happened to its email:

  • Email sent to …: the customer got it.

  • Email sending is turned off for this document in Settings. Not an error.

  • The order has no email address, so there was nobody to send it to.

  • 🟡 The document was created, but Fatture in Cloud couldn’t send the email. The document is fine and is never created twice. Click Contact us and we'll check it.

A failed email isn't sent again automatically.

🔴 Error

The document wasn't created. This is almost never a problem with your data or the app: usually one small setting on your side fixes it, and the row tells you which one: Why it failed and How to fix, right there.

  • Try again: opens the manual generation window, where you can pick any document type and create it again

  • Send to support: opens the chat with the error log attached, so you don't have to explain anything.

🤗 We're on it. Your error log goes straight to our technical team. You always hear back from us, and we stay on it until your document is created.

Not connected yet?

Until the app is connected to your Fatture in Cloud account, the Monitor shows Connect your Fatture in Cloud account first instead of the orders. Click Connect now → to set up the connection.

Email notification, only when it matters

If something failed during the day, we send you a summary email with the affected orders, so you know to open the Monitor. No email means nothing to fix.

Looking up an error code

You don't need this table to fix an error: the Monitor shows the explanation and the fix on the order row. Use it to look up a code you've seen.

💬 Explanation

✅ How to fix

1-

No document was created: the app skipped this order on purpose.

Nothing to do. If you expected a document, contact us: https://makeiteasy.app/contact/

1-1

App access denied: subscription not approved or app not in development mode.

Approve the subscription to this Shopify app.

1-2

No Fatture in Cloud company is selected, so there's nowhere to issue the document.

Go to the app settings and choose the company to issue documents for.

1-3

Shopify isn't connected to your Fatture in Cloud account.

Go to the app settings and click Connect to link your Fatture in Cloud account.

1-4

The order total was 0. We don't create a document for it.

Create an order with a total above 0.

2-

Some order data needed for the document is missing.

Try creating the document by hand from the order. If it still fails, contact us: https://makeiteasy.app/contact/

3-

Something went wrong on our side while preparing the document.

Please contact us, we'll help as soon as we can: https://makeiteasy.app/contact/

3-1

The order has no customer, and a document needs one.

Add a customer to the order and try again.

3-3

A credit note was requested, but the invoice it reverses isn't in Fatture in Cloud.

Check that the invoice still exists in Fatture in Cloud. If it was deleted, create the credit note by hand.

3-4

An invoice was requested for an order with a proforma, but the proforma isn't in Fatture in Cloud.

Check that the proforma still exists in Fatture in Cloud. If it was deleted, create the invoice by hand, or first issue a new proforma from the app.

4-

The call to Fatture in Cloud failed. We may have sent wrong data, or the problem is on Fatture in Cloud’s side.

Please contact us, we'll help as soon as we can: https://makeiteasy.app/contact/

4-1

Your Fatture in Cloud account has no VAT rate for one of the tax rates on this order, so the document couldn't be created.

In Fatture in Cloud, go to Impostazioni → Aliquote IVA, add the missing rate and try again. If the order should be tax-free, check the customer's tax exemption in Shopify.

4-401

Fatture in Cloud rejected the connection: the access couldn't be renewed.

Open the app settings and click Connect to link your Fatture in Cloud account again.

4-403

Fatture in Cloud refused the request. The connected account may lack permission, the Fatture in Cloud licence may have expired, or the hourly or monthly API quota is used up.

Check that your Fatture in Cloud subscription is active and the connected user can create documents, then reconnect in the app settings. If it keeps failing, wait an hour and try again.

4-404

Fatture in Cloud couldn't find a document or client the app referred to.

It may have been deleted in Fatture in Cloud. Try creating the document again; if it keeps failing, contact us: https://makeiteasy.app/contact/

4-422

Fatture in Cloud refused the document because some of its data isn't valid.

Check the customer's billing details and the numbering in the app settings, then try again. If it keeps failing, send it to support.

4-429

Fatture in Cloud's API limit was reached.

Wait a few minutes and try again. If it happens often, contact us: https://makeiteasy.app/contact/

Make sure the trigger isn't 'Never' » If a document type is set to “Never” in the trigger settings, the app doesn't create it by itself. That's the setting, not a bug. You can still create it by hand from the Monitor.
