Introducing the New Asset Hierarchy in Makula

We’re thrilled to unveil a major update to the asset hierarchy in Makula! Our previous fixed structure—limited to Production Lines, Machines, and Components—has been replaced with a fully customisable system that lets you design your hierarchy to match your business processes, no matter how simple or complex.

What’s New?

  • Unlimited Customisation:

Create as many hierarchy levels as you need, from one to ten (or more). Tailor the structure to perfectly fit your operational workflows.

  • Custom Asset Types:

Say goodbye to predefined categories. Define your own asset types, such as “Production Lines,” “Subassemblies,” or “Workstations,” based on what best represents your organisation.

  • Flexible Tagging:

Asset types are assigned as tags, enabling advanced filtering and searching while giving you greater control over structuring your hierarchy.

  • Expanded Work Order Association:

Work orders can now be linked to any level in the hierarchy—not just machines. This ensures accurate tracking and task management at every organisational level.

Benefits of the Update

  • Tailored to Your Needs:

Build hierarchies that align with your unique business requirements, no matter the industry or scale of your operations.

  • Scalable and Future-Ready:

Whether you're a small business or a global enterprise, the new system evolves with your organisation.

  • Solves Existing Challenges:

Addresses feedback from current customers and unlocks possibilities for industries requiring more complex asset structures.

Real-World Example

Here’s how a manufacturing company might use the new asset hierarchy:

  1. Production Line – Engine Assembly Line, Chassis Assembly Line

  2. Workstations – Welding Station, Painting Station

  3. Machines – Robotic Welder 01, Painting Robot 02

  4. Subassemblies – Frame Assembly, Door Assembly

  5. Components – Gearbox, Transmission System

  6. Parts – Bolts, Screws, Bearings

  7. Sub-Parts – Washer, Nut

This flexibility allows the company to create a clear and intuitive structure, enhancing both efficiency and management.

Empowering Your Operations

With this update, we’ve removed restrictions to give you the freedom to create scalable, detailed asset hierarchies that support your growth and operational goals. Whether you’re refining existing processes or venturing into new industries, Makula’s enhanced hierarchy system is designed to work for you.
