It's easy to forget the basics, like consistently using your sponsor's tags and mentions in posts and reels, especially over the length of the contract.
Stay on top of your social media and aim to keep up with the monthly average.
To stay relevant in a competitive scene, sponsors need to be mentioned often and have their tags used so they can hit their marketing, content, and sales targets. Athletes are connecting the dots with their content. Consistency and regular updates make a big difference and are loved by social media algorithms. Regular posts and reels on your feed are key because they help attract new customers and fans, while stories, which disappear after 24 hours, just play a supporting role.
Your sponsor will connect your social media accounts to your profile. You'll find your posts in the Analytics part of your Athlete Cockpit. The data is gathered over time, so don't expect real-time updates. It's just meant to give you a look back at how you're doing in line with your sponsor's goals.
The social data comes straight from the social networks, and occasionally, it might be a bit off due to typos in tags, errors in the network feed, or time windows overlapping (like when the month changes and data isn't available yet). If this happens, you can manually upload a post to fill the gap if needed. Use the green box for manual uploads.
But, it's usually best to wait a bit; the data will come through eventually. The sponsor looks at the data over long periods to get an average idea of how often tags and mentions are used. It’s not about likes, comments, and shares here. Those metrics are important for product launches and other activities.
For this, just focus on posting regularly with the right tags and mentions based on your agreement with your sponsor. This might mean 2, 4, or 6 posts per month per network.
Link your Calendar to your sponsor and get a monthly ❗[REVIEW] 📕 event by social network for using tags and mentions.
To see where you’re at right now, the simplest thing to do is sync up with the Sponsor Calendar (SYNC). If you haven't already, you can get more details here.
At the start of each month, your sponsor will add a calendar event for you that includes:
The goal for the average number of posts/reels for the month and any relevant mentions and tags.
A recap of the previous month, including total posts and whether you hit your targets.
A review of the contract period by month with target achievements.
This way, you'll always stay ahead of the curve.
Monthly email reports give a quick rundown of team trends and your general standing.
The report is a heads-up with a snapshot from a particular date, showing team rankings based on mentions and tags.
It’s just to keep the issue on your radar, so you stay on top of things during the contract period. This way, when it's time to renew, you'll know you've hit your targets and can push for a better deal.
