To open a USD account on Roam, you must first complete the KYC process. This step verifies your identity using details such as your BVN, date of birth, and a valid government-issued ID (NIN, International Passport, Voter’s Card, or Driver’s License).

If your KYC was not approved, it may be due to one of the following reasons:

Common Reasons for KYC Failure

  • Mismatched date of birth: The date you entered does not match what is on your BVN or on the ID you uploaded.

  • Blurry or unclear images: Your ID photo or selfie was not clear enough for verification.

  • Incorrect upload format: You did not follow instructions—such as taking a clear selfie holding your ID for face–ID comparison.

  • Invalid or altered ID: The uploaded ID appeared edited, tampered with, or digitally altered.

Here are some tips on how to Get Your KYC Approved

  • Ensure your date of birth matches across your BVN and ID.

  • Upload clear, readable images where all ID details are visible.

  • Use good lighting when taking your selfie and ID pictures.

  • Clean your camera lens before capturing photos to avoid blurry images.
