Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL) identifies five core Social-Emotional Competencies that Marathon Kids aligns with.

Our program can have a positive impact on a wide range of outcomes, including growing self-confidence, healthy relationships, mental wellness, and more.

See below how the Marathon Kids program aligns with each competency.

SELF-AWARENESS

  • Proven to increase self-efficacy, self-confidence, and self-athletic perception.

  • Kids recognize their personal strengths and develop a growth mindset.

SELF-MANAGEMENT

  • Practice setting short and long-term goals.

  • Learn how to track progress.

  • Develop an intrinsic motivation to take care of themselves recognizing that physical activity makes them feel good.

RESPONSIBLE DECISION-MAKING
