"Heart-pumping activities" are any forms of movement that increase the heart rate.
At Marathon Kids, we equate 20 minutes of a heart-pumping activity to 1 mile.
So it's another way for participants to earn mileage.
Adding minutes of activity is optional but works great for:
- inclement weather 
- indoor lap time 
- for clubs with no outdoor track/lap space 
- really any minutes of moderate to vigorous movement your kids do!
