Tips for best success if your cat is used to eating wet food

Updated over a month ago

Switching your cat from wet food to Fresh is an exciting step toward giving them the very best. We know cats can be creatures of habit, so transitioning gently is the key to success. Here are some tried and tested tips from our experts to make the switch as smooth as possible.

Start with our Chicken recipe

Our chicken recipe is gentle on the tummy and one of our most-loved recipes. It’s a great starting point for introducing our Fresh food - simple, lean, and oh-so-delicious.

Start small and serve side-by-side

Offer a spoonful of Marro in a separate bowl or saucer alongside their regular wet food. Cats are naturally curious, so let them explore it at their own pace. Don’t worry if they don’t dive in right away; we recently carried out a fussy eating study and found that most cats transitioning from wet food started eating Marro within the first three days. Patience and consistency really pay off.

Stick to their routine

Offer Marro at the same time you would usually offer their wet food. Cat's love to know what their day looks like, and if you throw them off with a new meals and a new meal time, it may be a little too much for them. Sticking to their routine will keep them relaxed and mean they'll be more inclined to give something new a try.

Switching your cat to Fresh is a fantastic choice. Thanks to our human-grade ingredients and the careful way we cook and portion each meal, cats can absorb more nutrients. This often leads to noticeable health benefits, such as a shinier, glossier coat, better gut health (goodbye smelly poos), increased energy, and easier weight management.

So, if your cat isn't too sure about Marro yet, hang in there - it’s a small adjustment for long-term health and happiness.
