How to Feed for Best Success

Picture this: your cat, perched upon their throne (your favourite armchair), awaiting their meal with an air of aristoCATic nonchalance. You, the designated waiter, take upon the extreme privilege of serving up a feast fit for a king/queen.

To prepare, remove a pouch from the freezer the night before to defrost in the fridge. It will take 6-8 hours for it to fully thaw. They can last up to 7 days in the fridge so feel free to get out a weeks supply once a week if that works better for you.

Once it’s time for the long awaited breakfast, remove the pouch from the fridge and serve in your cat’s favourite bowl. We’d recommend one that’s wide and shallow to avoid causing any constant brushing against your cat’s beautiful whiskers and causing them some whisker fatigue.

Once the food hits the bowl it’s only a matter of time before you’re being yelled at (we hope it resembles something like Maarrooo) by a hungry and furry beast, so mash the pouch’s contents up to a more digestible consistency. There’s no need for silver plated cutlery or your finest china here, simply use the spork which can be found in your box.

If you're feeling particularly indulgent, a quick zap in the microwave for 10 seconds can elevate the dining experience to new heights and provide your cat with the feeling of a fresh hunting catch.

Easing your cat into Marro from any previous diets is key so we’d recommend offering a small amount in a separate bowl alongside their current food to begin with (read more on transitioning here).

Now, humble servant, place the food where your cat may be the most comfortable, whether this be a high counter or near their favourite window viewing spot. They are best waited on in a place without loud noises or other distractions that may cause stress. If you’re lucky enough to have more than one furry friend, keep their meals separate to prevent any potential competition at feeding time.
