When will I receive the courtesy car?
You will receive your courtesy car once:
Your car is at one of our approved repairers.
The repair has been authorised by an engineer.
All necessary parts are available.
Please note: national supply chain issues may affect the availability and timing.
How long can I keep the courtesy car?
You can keep the courtesy car for the entire duration of the repairs. If your car is later declared a total loss, you must return the courtesy car within 2 days of being notified.
Do I need separate insurance for the courtesy car?
No, the courtesy car is covered by your existing Marshmallow policy at no extra cost, provided it was issued by one of our approved repairers.
What kind of car will I get?
You’ll usually receive a small manual hatchback under 1200cc, such as a Fiat 500. This car is meant to help you stay mobile, not as a direct replacement for your vehicle.
If you require an automatic vehicle or have accessibility needs, discuss this with the repairer. They may be able to provide a more suitable vehicle, depending on availability.
What are the restrictions on using a courtesy car?
No business use: Courtesy cars are for personal errands and commuting only.
UK only: Do not drive the car outside the UK.
Mileage limit: You can drive up to 300 miles per week. Additional mileage costs are your responsibility.
You are responsible for any fines or penalties incurred while using the car (e.g., parking or speeding tickets).
