What happens if my stolen car is found?

This article is for Marshmallow policyholders whose car was stolen and has now been found.

My car has been found—what next?

If the police recover your car before your claim is settled, here’s what happens:

  1. We’ll assess the condition of your car

    • E2E will be instructed to collect your vehicle and will determine if the vehicle can be repaired safely.

  2. If the car can be repaired

    • We’ll arrange repairs with our approved garage network.

    • You’ll pay any applicable excess.

  3. If the car is beyond repair

    • We’ll treat it as a total loss and offer you a payout.

    • Your payout will reflect the market value of your car minus any excess and remaining premium.


Will I still get a courtesy car?

Unfortunately, courtesy cars are not provided for theft claims unless you have the Marshmallow Plus policy with this extension included.
