Can I use a hotel, caravan, or houseboat as my address?

This article is for new and existing policyholders who do not have a traditional home address.

Living in a hotel

You can use a hotel as your address in these situations:

  • New to the UK: If you’ve just moved to the UK, we accept a hotel as a temporary address. You’ll need to provide:

    • An invoice, receipt, or booking confirmation.

  • In a transition period: If you’re temporarily staying in a hotel while waiting to move into a new home, that’s fine. We’ll need:

    • Proof of your upcoming (forward-dated) permanent address.

  • For work purposes: If you live in a hotel due to your job (e.g. live-in staff), we’ll need:

    • Proof of your occupation.

Living in a caravan

We accept a caravan as your address only if:

  • It is your permanent residence.

  • It is a static caravan (not movable).

  • We can verify your occupation.

Standard address checks will also apply.

Living on a houseboat

We’re unable to accept a houseboat as a valid address under any circumstances.
