What vehicle usage options are available for vans?

This article is for Marshmallow customers insuring a van. The options differ slightly from cars.

1. Just social (SDP – Social, Domestic & Pleasure)

  • Covers personal driving only (no work).

  • Examples: visiting family, shopping, leisure travel.


2. I drive to and from work (SDPC – Social, Domestic, Pleasure & Commuting)

  • Covers all social driving plus commuting to a fixed place of work.

  • Included as standard on all Marshmallow van policies at no extra cost.


3. I use it for work (Carriage of own goods)

  • Covers travel to multiple work locations.

  • Covers transportation of your own work-related tools, goods, or equipment.

  • Includes social use and commuting.

  • Covers all named drivers.

What’s not covered under Carriage of own goods:

  • Courier or delivery work.

  • Loss or damage to the tools, goods, or equipment you carry.


4. Haulage (Carriage of other people’s goods)

  • Marshmallow does not offer haulage cover.
