What to do immediately after an accident

Follow these steps to stay safe and help us support you:

1. Stop your vehicle

It is a legal requirement to stop if:

  • Anyone is injured

  • There is damage to another vehicle, animal, or property

2. Get to safety

If you're on a motorway or busy road:

  • Leave your vehicle (if safe to do so)

  • Move to a safe location away from traffic

3. Call emergency services

  • Dial 999 if someone is injured

  • Request police or ambulance support as needed

4. Gather important information

Collect the following details:

  • Vehicle registration numbers

  • Names, addresses, phone numbers, and emails of all drivers

  • Passenger and injury details

  • Witness contact information

Take clear photos of the scene:

  • Vehicle positions and visible damage

  • Road markings, traffic signs, or skid marks

5. Do not admit fault

  • Avoid accepting responsibility, verbally or in writing

  • Let us handle communication with the other party
