How do I know if my policy is active?
Once your policy is activated, we’ll send you a welcome email confirming your cover.
The start date and time of your policy is shown on your Certificate of Motor Insurance.
You can find this document, along with the rest of your policy details, in the Marshmallow app or your online account.
You are only legally insured to drive from the start date and time shown on your Certificate of Motor Insurance.
When can I drive my vehicle?
You can drive your car once your policy is active:
New policy: Cover begins on the start date/time shown in your Certificate.
Policy updates: If you make a change (e.g. add a new vehicle or update your licence), cover will begin immediately from the effective date of the change and once we have confirmed the update.
Important: Even if you’ve received confirmation that your policy is active, you are not insured until the official start date and time.
