Do you accept NCD if I wasn’t the policyholder on my last insurance?

This article is for customers who earned their NCD as an additional driver on someone else’s car.

Yes, we can accept NCD earned as an additional (named) driver, even if you weren’t the main policyholder.

In this case, you’ll need to provide two types of proof:

  1. Proof of NCD in the main policyholder’s name — for example, a document from their insurer showing the number of claim-free years.

  2. Proof that you were insured as the additional driver for the same period — this could be a renewal invitation, insurance schedule, or letter from the insurer listing you as a named driver for that time.

Example:

If you’re declaring 5 years of NCD earned as an additional driver on your partner’s car, we’ll need:

  • Your partner’s document showing 5 years of NCD, and

  • Proof that you were insured on that policy for those 5 years

We can’t accept NCD based on time where there’s no evidence of your named driver status.

Feel free to upload the documents through the Marshmallow app and we’ll take a look.
