We've addressed some common questions about courtesy cars below:

What is a courtesy car?
A courtesy car is a temporary vehicle provided by our approved repairers while your car is being repaired. It's offered free of charge as part of your Marshmallow policy, unless you have a Marshmallow Lightest policy without the courtesy car add-on.

Will I get a courtesy car if I use my own garage?
Courtesy cars are only provided by our approved repairers. If you choose to use your own garage, a courtesy car will not be provided.

When will I receive my courtesy car?
You'll get a courtesy car once all necessary parts are available, your car is at one of our approved garages, and repair work is authorized by an engineer. However, national supply chain issues may cause delays.

How long can I keep the courtesy car?
You can keep the courtesy car until your car is repaired and roadworthy.

Do I need separate insurance for the courtesy car?
No, you're covered under your current Marshmallow policy at no extra cost.

What type of courtesy car will I get?
We aim to keep you mobile with a small hatchback (under 1200cc), not necessarily a like-for-like replacement for your car.

When won't I get a courtesy car?

You won't receive a courtesy car if:

  • Your car is stolen.

  • Your car is beyond economic repair.

  • Your garage isn't approved by us.

  • You're making a windscreen or glass claim.

  • Your car failed its MOT and no claim has been made.

Marshmallow Plus Plan:
If you have this plan, your courtesy car coverage includes theft or total loss claims.

For more details, refer to Section 8 of your Policy Wording in your Marshmallow account or app.
