Updated over a month ago

We accept No Claims Discount (NCD) or Bonus earned from driving cars or vans. Here's what you need to know:

Accepted and Not Accepted NCD:

  • We accept NCD earned from driving a car or van.

  • We do not accept NCD for learner drivers, motorcycles, or fleet insurance.

Documents We Accept:

  • Closing statement

  • Proof of NCD letter

  • Email confirmation from previous insurer

  • Renewal invitation

  • Insurance schedule showing NCD in %

Documents We Don't Accept:

  • Motor proposal confirmations

  • Driving licence or summary

Uploading Documents:

If requested, upload your document via the Marshmallow app:

  1. Tap your policy on the home screen.

  2. Go to "Documents" at the top.

  3. Select "Upload a document" and follow the instructions.

Verification and Updates:

  • Our team will review your documents.

  • If you can prove more NCD years than initially stated, we can adjust your discount (up to 25 years maximum).

Contacting Previous Insurer:

  • Unfortunately, we can't contact your previous insurer for NCD proof due to data protection rules.

  • Please contact them directly if you need assistance obtaining proof.

Gap in Cover:

  • We can't accept NCD with a gap of 3 or more years.

  • Combined foreign NCD is accepted if there's no gap of more than 3 years.

Multiple Insurers:

  • You can submit proof of NCD from multiple insurers.

  • However, you earn only one NCD year per calendar year, even with multiple policies.

Multiple Policies:

  • If you have more than one Marshmallow policy, you can apply the same No Claims Discount to both policies!

Adding extra years of No Claims Discount:

  • If we have not requested your NCD/No Claims Discount and you would like to provide proof of this, you'll need to speak to a member of the team.
