What if I live at a temporary address?

This article is for policyholders who are staying in short-term accommodation like an Airbnb, hotel, or a friend’s house.

You can still be covered with Marshmallow if you don’t have a permanent address, depending on your situation.

When can you use a temporary address?

You can use a temporary address in the following cases:

  • New to the UK: If you've just arrived and haven’t secured a permanent home, you can use an Airbnb or hotel address for now.

  • In transition: If you’re staying somewhere short-term before moving into a new home, let us know. We’ll also need the details of your upcoming permanent address.

  • Occupational housing: If you live at your workplace (like hospital accommodation or student halls), that’s fine too — just provide proof of your job or studies.

What proof do we need?

To accept a temporary address, we might ask for:

  • A signed tenancy agreement (minimum six months if available).

  • A forward-dated contract for your next home.

  • A hotel or Airbnb booking confirmation.

  • Proof of occupation (if you live at work premises).

What if I don’t have a permanent address right now?

We understand some customers may be in difficult situations, such as fleeing unsafe living conditions. In these cases, we can be flexible. You don’t need to provide a future address right away — just let us know your current living situation.
