How does the bracket work?

Once the tournament starts, every team captain will have to check their team into the tournament. Check in times can be set within the bracket settings.

Once this is done, and the tournament starts, players will receive an invitation to the lobby of their game in the Brawl Stars app.

How does banning work?

The banning system depends on which “Brawl Stars” format has been selected in the bracket settings.

If Power League is the chosen format, banning will occur in-game. If the chosen format is “Normal”, then banning must be done by the team captain of each team on the Matcherino platform. Team captains can navigate to their “Match card” in the “Bracket” tab of the tournament.

I need to collect info from the participants. Can I do this?

In the “Entry” tab of the admin settings, Matcherino allows you to create “Custom forms” which prompt questions to a participant who is signing up. This can allow you to collect various key bits of information.

How do I make it so that competitors must join my discord?

A tournament organizer can create a “Custom Form” question under the custom forms tab that asks every participant that is signing up to join a discord channel as part of the sign up process. Simply Navigate to custom forms, click “add” and navigate to “Join discord”. Once there, copy paste an invite link to your discord server and click save.

How do teams work?

Teams allow participants to group together for the tournament. Teams can either be set to “Private” or “Public”. A new team is created with the default setting as “Private”, which means that participants will have to be invited by the team creator/captain.

Can team captains sign their team up?

No. Every participant must register with their own Supercell ID in order to enable the automated bracketing. Team captains can, however, be the only ones to check their team in and are the ones responsible for banning Brawlers in their respective matches.

When the tournament starts, how do players find their match?

Every participant will be invited to the corresponding lobby of their match. Tournament organizers must click on “Start Bracket” for the tournament to begin and for invites to be sent to the corresponding Supercell IDs that are provided when a player signs up.

How do I payout the prize pool?

In order to pay out a prize pool, a tournament organizer must first create the prize pool “buckets” for their tournament. This can be done in the “Prize Pool” tab in the admin settings. Click “add” next to tournament payouts a set the payouts for your tournament (e.g. First Place 50%, Second Place, 30% etc.)

Once teams have been assigned to their proper payouts (which can be done automatically), navigate to the “actions” tab in admin settings and click payouts. You will be shown a recap of the payouts before confirming. Once confirmed, all of the participants will receive their winnings.

Do you have any resources I can send my players?

Yes! The Competitor FAQ can be found here.
