We are thrilled to introduce you to various exciting updates to our Purchase Order (PO) workflow! These enhancements not only streamline the purchasing process but also expand its capabilities. Let's dive right into the new features and changes.
Now Supporting POs for Services
Services Included: Previously limited to products, Materio's new PO workflow now accommodates services as well. You can now send POs to subcontractors and manage them just like you would for products.
QuickBooks Online Integration: The new workflow enables you to sync your service-related POs directly to QuickBooks Online, allowing you to track bill payments seamlessly.
Updated Interface and Navigation
New Location: You'll find your purchase orders under your project's new 'Orders' tab on the left-side navigation panel. Previously, they were located under 'Selections' and then at the top under 'Purchase Orders'.
Table/List Format: The new interface displays your orders in a more organized table or list format, making managing and viewing your orders easier.
From your PO, you can now click a link to a product's ordering website directly from the purchase order. This allows you to easily access links for purchasing online without having to return to your confirmed selections workspace.
More flexibility and customization
Custom Orders: You're not confined to auto-drafted POs. You can start a custom order by clicking 'New' at the top, allowing for greater flexibility.
Search and Filter: New filters have been introduced to enable status-based sorting and deep searches for specific order details or descriptions.
Sub-Items Feature: You can now add sub-items to your orders; enabling you to add, edit, and remove individual purchase order lines at any stage. This could be anything from light bulbs to custom fees, offering you greater granularity in your ordering process.
Generate a PDF of a purchase order before issuing it to a vendor
Advanced Auto Drafting Capabilities
From approved quotes: Auto drafting will first pull information from any approved quotes you have for products or labor.
From approved products: If no approved quote is associated, the system will look for approved products specified by your client to auto-draft.
Improved visibility into the QBO sync information
QuickBooks Link: Once a PO has been synced to QuickBooks Online, you'll see an update in the far right column that confirms the sync and provides a direct link.

Not included in this upgrade is the ability to easily update your scope (for instance, update the price to the client or other item details) directly from within a Purchase Order. Here's an article on how this separate feature works!
