Materio is a robust platform that contains all of your project data. When presenting to the client in person or over a video call, we want to ensure that sensitive data isn't revealed to the client. Creating a "client concierge" account is the easiest way to ensure that the presentation only shows client-facing information.

Once you create a 'Concierge' client account, this client profile can be added to any project and used again. There is no need to create a new account for each project; add this client profile, whichever project when you need to present.

Creating a client account is an excellent way to view the platform as a client for testing purposes.

During your presentation, you can make selections on behalf of the client and add any comments to items, products, boards, or floor plans to return to later.

Step 1: Create a 'Client Concierge' Materio account

  1. Navigate to the top-level menu () in the upper-left corner and then click on Contacts.

  2. Next, click on Clients and in the following screen, click the Add contact button.

  3. You must input a first name, last name, and email here. We recommend naming this account something you feel comfortable with your client seeing, such as "Client Concierge" or "Presentation Mode."

  4. For the email address, many customers create a faux client login to view the project precisely as the client would. To create a company-client login, you can use a personal email (john.doe@gmail.com), shared company inbox (orders@yourcompany.com, hello@yourcompany.com, etc.), or plus email (username+materio@example.com). Here's an article about using plus emails.

  5. After entering the first name, last name, and email, click Add client.

Step 2: Add the recently created Client Concierge account to your project

  1. Navigate to the dashboard and select the project you’d like to present.

  2. Click the Share button in the upper right corner and select the Invite Client option.

  3. Select the client profile you just created.

Step 3: Control the permissions and visibility of the client presentation account

  1. Once you have selected the client, you’ll be required to select the pricing visibility. Here, you’ll select whether you want prices displayed on each item, by category or location, or as a lump sum for the project.

    1. If you choose to display by totals by category or location or lump sum for the project, you’ll need to decide whether you’d like the prices for the selections to be visible when you’re presenting.

    2. NOTE: There is an option for Fully detailed pricing where the cost of the item, labor, and shipping can be visible. This is most often not the proper visibility.

Step 4: Log into the Client Concierge account to present in person or screen share

  1. Navigate to the inbox where you listed for the customer. There should be an invite that was generated from Materio asking to complete the registration. There will be a View Project button where you can complete the account registration and log into Materio as the Client Concierge.

  2. You'll be prompted to switch accounts if you're still logged into your standard firm-view account.

  3. Create a password for this account, but keep in mind that if multiple people at your firm will be using it, you'll want to choose a password that is different from your standard password(s).

  4. Once logged into the account, you can fearlessly present the project to the client in person or via screen share, knowing that you have curated the correct visibility.

Pro tip: You can open an incognito browser (cmd+shift+n on Mac for Chrome) and log into the Concierge account while logging into your firm account in your standard Chrome browser.
