November 25, 2024 — System Update

Admin>Configuration>Public Page Configuration - set default Font Size for descriptions

You can now set the default font size of your inventory descriptions and the additional descriptions. There are also options to change the font family and font weight - such as making your descriptions bold.

Admin>Auction - Option to upload Videos or Documents to the Auction level

In the Auction Dashboard, there are 2 new tabs - Documents and Videos

Public>Auction>Bidding Process tweak

When bidders are placing their bid, a pop-up window appears where they enter their minimum next required bid and/or maximum bid. This new update will automatically update/change the minimum next bid amount, if another bidder had placed a bid in the meantime. This will result in an easier & faster bidding process for bidders.

Public>Auction>Bidding Logic fix

An issue has been fixed where in some scenarios, if 3 bids of the same amount were entered, the system was inserting the incorrect minimum starting bid by not following the proper increment schedule.

September 9, 2024 — System Update

System updates include:

  • Admins/company Users Multifactor Authentication. Any user who logs into your Maxanet admin panel will now be required to authenticate their login with an email verification code. There will be a checkbox that you can click which will remember this code for 30 days.

  • GoToAuction.com. We have added an optional service where Maxanet clients can now opt-in and publish their auctions to GoToAuction.com. Listing your auction details on GoToAuction and their affiliate sites can help drive traffic and new bidders to your sales.

To use this service, please visit GoToAuction.com and register your company for free:
    https://www.gotoauction.com/companies/signup

Once registered, please email us at Support@Maxanet.com with your GoToAuction Company ID#. We will then enable a new option in your admin panel that will give the admin the option to publish your auction details to GoToAuctions.com in the Admin>Auction>Add/Edit Auction page.

  • Automated emails for bidder failed registrations. We've added a new email template that is automatically sent out to bidders who attempt to register but do not finish the registration process. You can customize this email template in the Admin>Configurations>Email Templates>Bidder Failed Registration.

  • 3rd party hosted inventory images. In the Admin>Auction>Items page, under the Lot Actions button, we've added a new option to the drop down menu called, 'External Image Bulk Upload'.

It's a very simple excel file. Column#A is the Item# and column#B are the image URLs for that corresponding item. The delimiter for multiple images is 2 'pipe' symbols.

Here is an example of what the delimiter for multiple photos looks like:
    https://maxanet.com/maxanet_logo.png||https://maxanet.com/maxanet_logo.jpg

After import, the system will take these photos, download/copy them, and display them. This upload process may take at least a few minutes to complete and display the images in the admin panel and the public auction pages.

  • Inventory import without SKU#. In the Admin>Auction>Items page, under the Lot Actions button, we've added a new option to the drop down menu called, 'Import Inventory without SKU# Excel Sheet'.

This new inventory upload option will allow clients to upload simple inventory without the need to download the inventory file first.

To use this new import, the admin needs to use the Lot Actions>Create Inventory and create the blank inventory items. You can then proceed to upload your excel file without the SKU#'s being required. There is a Sample Template you can download to view the new column headers for this import.

  • New image file name format options for Bulk Upload. In the Admin>Auction>Items page, under the Lot Actions button, we have the 'Image Bulk Upload' option. We have added new accepted file name formats which are in line with the default windows file naming.

In your folder, select/highlight all of the images you wish to rename and then click on the rename. In the above example, we put '1' as the new filename. Windows will automatically rename all of the selected file names with this format:
    1.jpg, 1 (2).jpg, 1 (3).jpg, etc.

This new file name format is now acceptable to use to bulk upload your images in the Admin>Auction>Items>Lot Actions>Image Bulk upload page.

  • MaxanetPay updates. We've made a few updates to our MaxanetPay system including:

    • An update to the code and the way transaction data is transmitted for processing - this should result in fewer declined payments.

    • New Error message displayed to the bidders. If the Admin has the 'authorization' setting in place on the auction level, and a bidder fails the authorization, there was potentially an issue where the bidder would attempt to add a new credit card to their profile. We've now added an error message to be displayed to the bidder if this new card they were adding was not accepted. Previously the system would show duplicated card #'s in the bidder profile.

    • A new timestamp has been added that will show the admin when the card on file was added by the bidder. This can be seen by the Admin when they are recording a payment on an invoice. This can be helpful when attempting to charge an invoice as the admin can now see if the bidder has added a new card to run the charge against.

    • Bidders who have had their bidding privileges turned OFF, can now log into their bidder profile and add a new credit card / payment method to their account. Bidders who have their bidding privileges turned OFF cannot make their own payment - only the admin can record a payment.

    • New option for the Bidder to automatically make the new credit card they are adding to their bidder profile by the primary/default card on file.

  • Bug fixes:

    • There was sometimes an issue for the admin to download the 'Items Report' and 'Items without bids' report which has been fixed.

    • If the admin has the 'Spanish Version' of Maxanet set as the primary, bidders were experiencing an issue where they were unable to reset their password.

    • Max Bid issue: There was an issue where if multiple bidders entered the same max bid on an item, the system in some scenarios was not creating the appropriate system bid.

March 12, 2024 — System Update

A system update was released overnight. Highlights of this update include:

  • Public Auction Pages>Countdown Timers. A major system update was released that has upgraded all of the code of the countdown timers on the item level. This should help with sporadic reports of bidders not seeing updates if they won/lost an item as the countdown timer goes to 0:00, especially on mobile devices.

  • Public Auction Pages>Grid View> View More/Less options.

In the Admin panel, click on the Auction Title to enter the auction dashboard. There is a right column menu and a new option at the bottom called, 'Display View More Content on Grid View'. You may need to click on the orange circle to display this right hand column.

The public auction pages, when viewed in Grid View, will display a new 'View More' hyperlink and an arrow as seen in the screenshot below.

Previously, before this option, the gridview would only display a line or two of the item description. Now when you click on the View More option, the description will expand and show more lines. Also, HTML will be shown.

This is an auction level toggle switch, and must be turned on for each auction. It will carry over if you use the 'CLONE' auction feature.

  • Public>Calendar>Search Results>Past Auctions - changed the default to 'Time Descending'

  • Admin>Permissions: New permission for Invoices>Edit Invoice

  • Other issues fixed:

    • Outbid email being sent even after Admin deletes the bidders bid

    • Settlements: Buy now invoices were creating duplicate settlements

    • Credit card authorization amounts were not applied to the partner account's MaxanetPay

January 2, 2024 — System Update

This system update includes the following:

Admin>Auction>Add/Edit Auction - Time Zone Conversion: A new time zone conversion has been added that will show the 'Local Time' underneath the Start Date & End Date boxes. This will assist the Admin by converting the time entered from Central Time (CST) into their computers time zone.

Admin>Auction>Invoices - Custom Header & Footer for specific Invoices. A new Actions menu option called, 'Invoice Content' has been added to the drop down menu for each invoice. This is useful if you want to have a different Invoice Header and/or Footer message for a specific invoice - such as a Buynow item.

Admin>Configurations>Global Fees - Cumulative Sliding Scale - a new 'Cumulative Sliding Scale' option has been added for the Commission fee type. You can read more about how the cumulative scale works by clicking HERE.

Admin>Configurations>Public Page Configurations. A few changes/updates/enhancements including:

  • The video icon and view docs icons have been moved down underneath the item description

  • New 'public page background color' option. You can now change the background color of the public auction pages. We suggest at this point not to use black / #000000 as there are limitations on changing the default Font colors. We'll have a future system update that will allow full font color control.

  • New 'auction & Item card background color' option. Each item now has it's own 'card' and this new feature allows you to change the background color of the card. We also suggest not to make this black color at this point.

  • The auction cards and public auction pages now have slight visual enhancements with rounded corners and better spacing between them.

  • Updates to the page footer sizing/color

Public Auction Pages>Social Media Sharing - updated image export. The system will now export the Auction highlight image or the item image to Facebook/Twitter/other social media channels when sharing. Previously it was exporting the company logo.

Other enhancements and bug fixes deployed in this update:

  • Admin>Auction>Edit Auction - an issue was addressed where if you Edit an auction while the auction is in the process of closing, it was affecting the countdown timers of the items. Now if you edit an auction while it's closing, it will not change the time remaining - unless the edit you made was to the End Date/Time of the auction.

  • Admin>Auction>Images>Delete Image - removed the requirement for the admin to click 'ok' to close the pop-up confirmation window (to save time)

  • Admin>Auction>Bids - changed the default to Descending Order for listing of the bids.

  • Admin>Users>Enable Bidding - a language change to the confirmation message when enabling bidding for a bidder has been updated.

  • Bidder Registration - an issue was fixed where some bidders were able to register without a phone number or address (very rare).

  • Admin>Auction>Items - an issue was fixed where the 'Save & Duplicate' option was not carrying over the minimum starting bid amount from the Add/Edit auction page.
