Overview
Maxanet includes an Auto Registration setting that controls whether new bidders are approved instantly when they register, or whether the admin has to manually review and approve them before they can bid. Turning Auto Registration on creates a frictionless signup experience for bidders; turning it off gives you tighter control over who bids on your auctions, which is useful for higher-value auctions or when you want to verify every new account.
How to open the Auto Registration setting in Maxanet
Log into your Maxanet Admin panel as the master administrator. In the upper-right corner of the page, click the green Go To Admin button. This opens the master admin preferences screen. Click the Preferences tab. In the middle column of the Preferences screen you will find the Auto Registration checkbox.
How Auto Registration affects new bidder signups
When the Auto Registration checkbox is checked, every new bidder who completes registration is immediately emailed their new bidder/user number and password by Maxanet, and they can start placing bids right away. When the checkbox is unchecked, new bidders complete the registration form but are not given bidding access until the admin manually approves them. To approve a pending bidder, open the Users page, click the user number, and enable bidding privileges in the bidder profile.

Common questions
Does disabling Auto Registration stop new bidders from registering entirely?
No. New bidders can still fill out the registration form β they just will not be able to bid until you approve them manually from the Users page.
Where do I approve bidders when Auto Registration is off?
Open Users, find the new bidder, click their user number, and enable bidding privileges in the bidder profile. See the related Disable or Enable Bidding Privileges article for the exact toggle.
Can I use Auto Registration with credit card required at signup?
Yes. Auto Registration and the CC Required to Bid setting are independent β you can require a credit card on file AND have Maxanet auto-approve bidders, or any combination.
