Overview

This FAQ is for bidders registering and bidding on a Maxanet-powered auction site. It covers the full bidder experience: registering a new account, verifying your email, choosing a strong password, logging in, placing bids and max bids, handling Buy Now and Make an Offer items, viewing invoices, and arranging pickup. If you get stuck, contact the specific auction company directly — every Maxanet site is operated by its own independent auction business.

How to register a new bidder account on a Maxanet site

Click the Login/Register link in the upper-right corner of the auction page. In the pop-up, click Register here to start. Fill in your First Name, Last Name, Email Address, and Phone Number, complete the Google CAPTCHA, and click Submit. Maxanet automatically sends a verification email to the address you entered. If you don't see it, check your Spam/Junk folder.

How to complete registration after you get the verification email

Open the verification email and click the Register here link inside. This brings you to the final registration page. Choose a password that is at least 8 characters long and includes at least one special character, one lowercase letter, one uppercase letter, and one number. Enter the same password twice to confirm. Complete all required fields (marked with a red asterisk), certify you are 18 years of age or older, agree to the Terms and Conditions, complete the CAPTCHA, and click Submit.

What to do if registration fails

If registration fails, scroll back up the page and check that all required fields (red asterisks) are filled in. Common mistakes: password doesn't meet the complexity requirements, Terms and Conditions checkbox not checked, CAPTCHA not completed, or age-confirmation box missed. After you click Submit successfully, you'll see a confirmation page with your bidder number and receive an email with the same info.

Automatic vs manual approval after registration

Some auction companies automatically approve new bidders so you can bid immediately. Others require manual admin approval before you can place bids. The email you receive after registering tells you which applies — if manual approval is needed, the auction company will review and approve your account within their business hours.

How to log in to your bidder account

Click Login/Register in the upper-right corner of any auction page and enter your email and password. If you forget your password, use the Forgot Password link — the system will email you a reset link. If you don't receive the email, contact the auction company directly and they can generate a one-time password for you.

How to place a bid and use max bids

On any item's detail page, enter your bid in the Next Required Bid box (usually the minimum accepted amount shown) or enter a higher Max Bid to have the system auto-bid on your behalf up to your maximum. Max bids are hidden from other bidders — only the minimum required to outbid competitors is revealed at a time. If someone outbids your max, you'll receive an outbid notification email (and optional text message, if the auction company has enabled SMS).

How to use Buy Now and Make an Offer

Some items have a Buy Now button that lets you purchase at a fixed price without waiting for the auction to close. Other items have a Make an Offer option where you submit a price and the auction company accepts, rejects, or counters. The auction company sets the minimum accepted offer amount — offers below that minimum are automatically declined.

How to view your invoices, pay, and arrange pickup

Log in and open your Bidder Profile → Invoices tab to see every invoice across every auction. If the auction company uses MaxanetPay, you can pay directly from your profile; otherwise, follow the payment instructions on the invoice. Each auction also has its own pickup or shipping details — check the auction's Terms and Conditions for pickup dates, location, and instructions.

Common questions

Why didn't I get my verification email?

Check your Spam/Junk folder. If it's not there, make sure you typed your email correctly during registration, then ask the auction company to resend it.

What are the password requirements?

At least 8 characters, with at least one special character, one lowercase letter, one uppercase letter, and one number.

How does max bidding work?

You enter the highest amount you're willing to pay. The system bids on your behalf at the minimum increment needed to keep you winning, up to your max. Other bidders cannot see your max — only the current winning bid.

What happens if I'm outbid after placing a max bid?

You'll receive an automatic outbid email notification. You can go back and raise your max bid if you want to continue bidding.

Can I see a list of everything I bid on?

Yes. Log in, click your bidder number in the top right, and view your profile — the Bids tab shows all your bids across all auctions.

How do I pay for a winning invoice?

If the auction company uses MaxanetPay, your saved credit card may be auto-charged at invoicing time, or you can pay from your Bidder Profile → Invoices tab. Otherwise, follow the payment instructions on the invoice (cash at pickup, check, etc.).

How do I contact the auction company?

Use the contact details on the auction company's public site or invoice. Every Maxanet site is run by its own independent auction business — contact them directly for questions about specific items, pickup, or payment.
