💵 How to Adjust Prices for International Markets in Shopify

In this article, we’ll walk you through how to apply a price increase or decrease for a specific market in Shopify.

Updated over 2 months ago

Shopify Markets allows you to manage pricing across different regions by applying automatic price adjustments. This is especially helpful when you want to align pricing strategies across markets, such as adding a percentage markup for international sales.

✨ What You Can Do with Price Adjustments

You can apply:

  • A percentage-based price increase (e.g., +2% for international markets)

  • A price decrease (useful for promotions or competitive pricing)

  • Market-specific adjustments without editing each product individually

🔧 How to Apply a Price Adjustment in Shopify Markets

1. Log in to your Shopify Admin

2. Navigate to Markets

  • From your admin dashboard, click on “Settings” (bottom-left corner).

  • Select “Markets” from the menu.

3. Select a Market

  • Choose the market where you want to adjust pricing (e.g., Africa (Mayple) or Europe).

  • Click the market name to open its details.

4. Go to “Products and Pricing”

  • Scroll down or find the “Products and Pricing” section.

  • This is where you manage local pricing for that specific market.

5. Adjust the Price for a Specific Product

  • Go to Products from the main menu.

  • Select the product you wish to update.

  • Scroll down to the Market-specific pricing section.

  • Enter the desired fixed price for the selected market (e.g., $399 + 2% = $406.98).

6. Save Your Changes

  • Click Save to apply the new price.

✅ Example: Applying a 2% Markup

If you sell a product for $399, and you apply a +2% price increase for the “Africa” market:

  • Shopify will display the product at $406.98 (or equivalent in the customer's local currency).

📝 Notes

  • These changes only apply to the selected market.

  • You can still override specific product prices manually if needed.

  • Make sure “Show prices to customers in their local currency” is enabled for a better buying experience.
