If your company activated the "split billing" feature, you have to pay some charging costs yourself.

If your company decides to activate 'split billing' with D'Ieteren Energy by Mbrella, it means they set certain limitations to the charging costs that they will cover for you. And by consequence, some costs will be invoiced to you personally.

There might be personal costs involved for you in the following cases:

Your company set monthly budget limits

If your company has set a monthly budget limit for charging (e.g., €150 per month), any charging costs that exceed this limit would be paid by the employee. This is part of D'Ieteren Energy by Mbrella's cost control features to help companies manage their charging expenses.

Charging Outside Allowed Countries:

If your company has implemented country restrictions (e.g., only allowing charging in Belgium), any charging sessions conducted outside the allowed countries would be billed to you.

Using Fast Chargers (if restricted)

If your company has chosen to block or restrict the use of fast charging stations to promote cheaper charging options, an employee using a fast charger will have to pay for that session themselves.

Charging at Blocked Chargers

If specific charging providers or stations are blocked by the company (e.g., blocking Fastned or Allego), you'll have to pay for these sessions yourself if you use these blocked chargers.

Idle Fees

Some companies may choose to have employees pay for idle fees or "rotation tariffs" that occur when a fully charged car remains plugged in and blocking the charger.

Office Charging (in some cases)

Some companies might require employees to pay for charging at the office, similar to how they wouldn't provide free gas for fuel cars. In these cases, the cost might be deducted from your paycheck.

Any charging session that does not comply with the company's set cost controls will be charged to the employee privately, typically via your credit card.

It's important to note that when you have to pay for a session due to non-compliance with company policies, these sessions are typically not processed through the Mbrella expense system. Instead, they are billed directly to the employee's private payment method (e.g., credit card). That's why it's mandatory for you to add a valid payment method in the D'Ieteren Energy by Mbrella app at any time.

❗️ Note that any expenses outside your company's policy will be charged in full to the employee.
