1. What cost control options are available for Mbrella Charge?

  • Set monthly budget limits

    • Set a maximum amount (e.g., €150) per month for charging

    • Any amount exceeding this limit will not be reimbursed by the employer

  • Apply country-specific geo-restrictions

    • Use a country picker to select multiple countries where charging is allowed

    • This restricts employees from charging at the company's expense outside specified countries (charging won't be blocked but costs will be charged to the employee)

  • Allow or disallow public and fast charging

  • Restrict charging to specific providers

  • Bill the cost for idle fees to your employees

  • Bill the cost for office charging to your employees

  • Set up notifications for cost-saving opportunities

    • Options may include alerts for

      • Excessive public charging

      • Charging during peak hours

      • When charging costs exceed a certain amount

      • Monthly charging cost overviews

❗️ Note that any spending out of your company's policy will be entirely billed to the employee.

💡 Important: If an employee's charging session exceeds their remaining budget, the entire session will be billed privately to the employee.

You can allow unused budget to roll over into the next month. When carryover is enabled and an employee exceeds their monthly budget, they'll initially pay the full charging amount. The system will then reimburse them via payroll for the portion that should have been covered by their carried-over budget, ensuring their available budget is used correctly.

2. How to manage your Mbrella Charge cost controls

  • Log into the admin side of the Mbrella Platform

  • Go to mobility hub and choose Mbrella Charge

  • Manage the settings section (right side of the page)

By effectively using these cost control features, you can manage and optimize your organisation's EV charging expenses while providing a valuable benefit to your employees!
