Private charging stations

These stations are located on private property, like at a home.

  • Accessibility: Controlled entirely by the property owner, ensuring restricted access.

  • Usage: Primarily for personal use, not accessible to the public.

Semi-public charging stations

This type of charging station is positioned in semi-private locations such as businesses, shopping centres, hotels, or car parks.

  • Accessibility: Available to a limited group, such as customers, guests, or employees with a compatible charging card.

  • Pricing transparency: Not guaranteed by public charging cards, as these points are not publicly listed.

Public charging stations

These are fully accessible to the public without restrictions. They are typically found along roads, in city centres, or public parking areas.

  • Accessibility: Open to all electric vehicle owners with a compatible charging cards.

In a nutshell, the key differences among these charging options lie in accessibility, price transparency, and control over the charging points, ranging from highly restricted (private) to completely open (public).
