Set Up Your Label Printer
Meadow supports the Zebra ZD410 label printer for printing product labels, Metrc barcodes, and package labels. The label printer connects to your Mac or PC via USB.
What You Need
Zebra ZD410 label printer
USB cable
Mac or Windows PC
Label rolls (2.25" x 1.25" or 2" x 1" recommended)
Setup on Mac
Step 1: Connect the Printer
Plug the Zebra ZD410 into your Mac using the USB cable.
Go to System Preferences → Printers & Scanners (or System Settings → Printers & Scanners on newer macOS).
Click the + button to add a new printer.
Step 2: Select the Printer and Driver
Select ZD410 from the list.
Under "Use" or "Driver," select EPL2 as the driver. This is critical for proper label formatting.
Click OK. Your printer is now ready.
Setup on Windows
Plug the Zebra ZD410 into your PC using the USB cable.
Go to Control Panel → Devices and Printers.
Right-click the Zebra printer and select Printing Preferences.
Set the label size to match your labels (e.g., 2.25" x 1.25").
Calibrate the Label Printer
After setting up, calibrate the printer so it correctly detects label boundaries.
Load your labels into the printer.
Press and hold the calibrate button (small button on top of the printer) until the labels start feeding through.
The printer will feed several labels and stop. It's now calibrated.

Troubleshooting
Labels Not Printing Correctly (Misaligned or Blank)
Calibrate the printer by pressing and holding the calibrate button.
Make sure the label size in print settings matches the actual label size.
Verify you selected EPL2 as the printer driver (Mac).
Check that labels are loaded correctly with the print side facing up.
Printer Not Detected
Try a different USB cable or USB port.
Make sure the printer is powered on.
Restart your computer and check Printers & Scanners settings again.
On Mac, remove the printer from the list and re-add it.
Labels Feeding Through Without Printing
The printer likely needs calibration. Press and hold the calibrate button.
Make sure labels are loaded correctly — the gap between labels should be aligned with the sensor.
Print Is Too Small or Cut Off
Check your paper size settings in the print dialog and make sure they match your label dimensions.
Use "Actual Size" rather than "Fit to Page" in print settings.
On Mac, create a custom paper size matching your labels if the correct size isn't listed.
Label Sizes
Meadow supports multiple label sizes. Common options include:
2.25" x 1.25" — Standard product label
2" x 1" — Compact product label
4" x 6" — Shipping/package label
Frequently Asked Questions
My Zebra ZD410 isn't being recognized by my computer. What should I do?
First, try a different USB cable and a different USB port. Make sure the printer is powered on and the status light is solid green. On Mac, go to System Preferences → Printers & Scanners, remove the ZD410 from the list, then re-add it. On Windows, go to Devices and Printers and check if the printer appears. If it still doesn't show up, restart your computer with the printer connected.
Where do I set up label types and sizes for my printer?
Label sizes are configured in your computer's print settings, not in Meadow. When you print labels from Meadow Admin, click "More settings" or "System Dialog" in Chrome's print dialog and set the paper size to match your labels (e.g., 2.25" x 1.25"). On Mac, you may need to create a custom paper size if your label dimensions aren't listed. Save this as a preset so you don't have to reconfigure each time.
Can I connect the label printer to an iPad via Bluetooth?
No. The Zebra ZD410 label printer connects via USB only and requires a Mac or Windows PC. It cannot be connected to an iPad. You'll print labels from Meadow Admin in Chrome on your computer, not from the POS app on iPad.
How do I calibrate the label printer?
Load your labels into the printer, then press and hold the calibrate button (the small button on top of the printer) until labels start feeding through. The printer will feed several labels and stop automatically — it's now calibrated. You should recalibrate whenever you load a new roll or switch label sizes.
Can I use a different brand of label printer with Meadow?
Meadow officially supports the Zebra ZD410 label printer. Since label printing happens through Chrome's print dialog, other USB label printers may technically work if you configure the correct paper size and driver settings — but we can only provide setup and troubleshooting support for the ZD410.
